From Brewery to Gallery
The San Antonio Museum of Art (SAMA) is an art museum located in the heart of Downtown San Antonio, Texas. The museum’s exhibitions span 5,000 years of rich, global history and cultural events. Formerly recognized as the historic Lone Star Brewery, the museum moved into this iconic building in close quarters to the San Antonio River Walk.
In the summer of 2023, SAMA had a unique opportunity to launch their new exhibition, “Still Brewing Art,” exploring the rich history of the Lone Star Brewery and San Antonio’s history as a brewery city. Showcasing a collection of brewery posters, artifacts, photographs, and site plans dating back to 1976, the exhibition aimed to not only honor the brewery’s past but also to celebrate San Antonio’s brewing heritage and its connection to the San Antonio River.

Innovative Design To Engage Audiences
Given that this was a “one time,” “limited-run” exhibition, Noisy Trumpet’s approach focused on positioning this exhibition as a unique, must-see experience – “a look back on the museum’s past as Lone Star Brewery.” Our team developed the campaign look and feel, and tailored campaign messaging to various marketing channels & target audiences to diversify the platforms on which we could reach the public.
The goal was to reach a new and unique target audience, otherwise unlikely to visit the museum, educate the public on the exhibition, drive ticket sales, and ultimately convert those visitors into new museum Members. By utilizing innovative design and diverse content creation, the campaign was meticulously crafted to maximize engagement and resonate with a broader audience.
Results
Secured Over 834,181 Impressions
The execution of the marketing campaign yielded significant outcomes, with over 834,181 impressions generated across numerous platforms. The breakdown of impressions by the platform is as follows:
- Facebook/Instagram: 560,406 impressions
- Google Performance Max: 75,973 impressions
- Sponsored Social: 88,219 impressions
- Public Relations: 12,186 impressions
- YOLO: 97,397 impressions
Additionally, the campaign drove 614 conversions and 1,400 website sessions, reflecting the strong engagement and and successful outreach across targeted channels.
