Fusing Texas Charm with Modern Marketing

River North Icehouse, located in a revitalized warehouse between the Historic Pearl and downtown San Antonio, captures the essence of a classic Texas Icehouse with cold drinks, live music, and relaxed indoor/outdoor seating. As a new addition to the River North district’s growing social scene, it offers a laid-back yet vibrant atmosphere. To support its launch, Noisy Trumpet was enlisted by AREA Real Estate and TKW Hospitality Group to drive awareness and traffic to the Icehouse through various marketing strategies.

Idea

Maximize Awareness and Buzz with a Multi-Channel Approach

  • Website Design & Development: First, we created a custom splash page to generate pre-launch excitement, followed by a permanent WordPress site featuring vintage-inspired illustrations, custom photography, branded graphics, and engaging copy. The site captured the venue’s atmosphere, live music lineup, and menu offerings while blending nostalgic charm with modern design.
  • Social Media Content Creation: Noisy Trumpet built River North Icehouse’s social media presence from scratch, including content creation, channel construction, and paid ads. We initially launched a static Instagram grid to tease the venue’s vibe during construction. Closer to launch, social media content included trendy Instagram Reels and TikTok videos and high-quality photography highlighting the bar’s unique offerings, like great service, drinks, live music and spacious seating.
  • Public Relations & Influencer Marketing: Our targeted PR campaign included team key messaging and press materials development used for media and influencer outreach. We also hosted an influencer and press preview event to generate buzz, resulting in significant media coverage and influencer engagement. These efforts drove attendance to the official ribbon-cutting grand opening and strengthened community connections.

Social Media Content Creation

To amplify River North Icehouse’s brand visibility, we established and developed its social media presence from scratch guiding the brand through every phase from channel construction to brand launch. Our approach included a social media campaign strategy to establish the personality and perception of River North Icehouse on social media as well as, content creation across Instagram. While the building was under construction, we designed and shared an Instagram grid that teased the general vibe of the bar. From there, we focused on sharing engaging, trendy videos and high-quality photography that showcased the bar’s points of difference – great service, drinks, and plenty of indoor-outdoor seating.  In addition to our organic social media strategy, we combined paid ads to broaden the reach and engage new users.

Our public relations efforts focused on generating buzz around River North Icehouse, starting with the development of a targeted campaign, key messaging, and media outreach. To ensure awareness across channels, our marketing strategy also put an emphasis on media and influencer coverage that built credibility and generated buzz around River North Icehouse’s grand opening. Our efforts included the development of a unique PR strategy, brand positioning, and key messaging that supported our media and influencer outreach and drove attendance and coverage of the bar’s influencer and press preview night, along with the official ribbon-cutting grand opening. These events provided influencers with opportunities to create and share content across multiple platforms, driving substantial brand awareness and fostering strong connections within the local community.

Delivering Over 20 Million Total Impressions

  • Media Coverage: Over 19.3 million earned media impressions with coverage in top-tier local outlets including the San Antonio Express-News, KENS, and KSAT
  • Social Media Growth: 3,848 new followers, 87,636 engagements, and 976,968 impressions.
  • Social Media Engagement: 2.6% average engagement rate per social media post – much higher than industry benchmarks across platforms!
  • Influencer Impact: 84,127 social influencer impressions and 4,605 engagements

Noisy Trumpet’s integrated approach successfully positioned River North Icehouse as a must-visit venue, leveraging strategic website development, social media content, public relations, and influencer collaborations to amplify awareness and foot traffic. In-person feedback at the grand opening revealed that many people came to the event after seeing it on social media! Today, it stands as a vibrant entertainment hub in San Antonio’s River North District.
